The Wheaton A Rocha community garden was conceived by then president Curtis Witek. After gaining the support of Wheaton College administration, A Rocha was given a 1/3 acre parcel of land in the center of Wheaton’s campus overlooked by the student center and Wheaton College’s new sciences building, a perfect spot to accomplish the goals we have for the garden. Among the most important of these goals are raising awareness on campus of local environmental concerns, and providing a way for students to actively participate in the work of conservation in the form of sustainable agriculture and the Wheaton College Recycling Program.
